Quattro Fontane was once Daniele Pisani’s private retreat, now renovated to resemble a chalet. Around 15 minutes by boat from St. Mark’s Square, this 4-star hotel is near beautiful sandy beaches on the Lido. From 18th-19th century furniture and old paintings to strange objects from around Europe, the hotel’s 3 buildings are distinctively cosy.
A love of art is clearly displayed throughout the 58 rooms and suites of this 4-star accommodation, shared between the chalet and the barchessa, a lovely mid-60s outbuilding. Each room has its own unique style and some feature a balcony.
Have breakfast or savour Venetian specialities in the dining room, with its stunning fireplace, or in the large garden under the impressive plane tree.
Try a quintessentially Venetian tradition and gossip the day away in the lovely “casetta”, a dolls’ house nestled in the garden.
Or head to the tennis court and practise a few swings.
