Just a few minutes from Saint Peter’s square, this four-star hotel is part of the former palazzo commissioned by Cardinal Federico Cesi to house his collection of paintings; the first museum in the western world! Subsequently the headquarters of the Order of Salvatorian Fathers, the Hotel Palazzo Cardinal Cesi retains many traces of its monastic past behind its façade… There is a magnificent cloister with its peaceful ochre walls and limestone walled reception with high ceilings, sombre furniture and comfortable red armchairs. A refuge of monastic beauty with sombre elegance heightened with a few touches of colour (yellow and red in particular), as in the breakfast room, the former refectory whose dark wood furniture is reminiscent of the temperance of some spiritual movements… Chef Lorenzo is happy to provide brunch if you wish.

«The entire staff was very helpful and forthcoming. The atmosphere encourages longer breaks and rest. Direct contact with Church organisations allows for short audiences on St. Peter’s Square to be set up. » See all commentsCustomer scores Average Mark 8.6/10 Recommendation Rate 94 % Number of Reviews 81 |
